NEWCASTLE EYE POPE AND KEPA IN KEEPER HUNT
■ NEWCASTLE UNITED are exploring a move for Burnley and England goalkeeper Nick Pope. Much will hinge on Burnley’s asking price for the 30-year-old (right), who has one year left on his deal but is keen to stay in the Premier League and stake a claim for a World Cup place. Newcastle have also discussed a loan for Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.
÷ INTER MILAN are accelerating efforts to re-sign Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea after chief executive Alessandro Antonello spoke of ‘a great desire on the part of Lukaku to return’. Chelsea rejected Inter’s opening offer of a £4million loan fee and want around £15m for Lukaku’s loan plus players in return. Denzel Dumfries is among the names discussed. ■ LIVERPOOL have agreed to sign Calvin Ramsay, 18, from Aberdeen for £4m plus £2.5m in add-ons, pending a medical. Liverpool will focus on sales now with bids expected from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane and Monaco for Takumi Minamino. Bournemouth want Nat Phillips back on loan.
÷ TOTTENHAM expect to complete a £25m deal for Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma after he passed a medical yesterday. Brighton will receive more than £5m in add-ons.
■ FULHAM have agreed a £15m fee for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha, 26, also a target for WOLVES. ÷ LEEDS UNITED have asked about Paris Saint-Germain striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, 20, and are keen on MANCHESTER CITY midfielder Romeo Lavia. Leeds are considering their options ahead of an expected bid for Kalvin Phillips. Lavia, 18, has been part of City’s first team squad and also has interest from Southampton.
