■ THE BBC tries to stoke up outrage after the resignation of Boris’s ethics chief Lord Geidt over the PM’s efforts to approve new tariffs on cheap Chinese steel to help British industry. The resignation of someone we’d never heard of in a job we didn’t know existed is hardly a scandal.
■ GOOD luck to that overstuffed little haggis Nicola Sturgeon calling for a new referendum for Scottish independence. Without British money Scotland would be bankrupt — but at least Sturgeon would become part of the union she idolises, the EU, where nearly seven per cent of people are unemployed.
■ THE PM wa s lambasted for introducing sanctions on Russia too late. Now Putin’s economy is tanking, there’s a shortfall of food in shops and 14 per cent of the population is living below the poverty level.
