MISSING . . .
‘Can you find my best friend Tony Granville from Tavistock secondary school in Croydon, Surrey?’ writes Bob Burrows, aged 84, from northampton.
‘In the early 1950s, we both lived on Woodcroft Road in Thornton Heath. Tony had a twin sister called Pat, and their father was a master tailor. We played football for our school, and I was best man at Tony’s wedding. We were inseparable until I went on military service. I signed up for seven years instead of the shorter national Service, and served three years as a PT instructor in Yeovil, Somerset, from 1956 to 1959. When I got back home, most of my pals, including Tony, had moved away. ‘after demob, I went back to work in the printing trade, married and moved to northampton. My wife Jackie and I had two children. after 23 years we divorced and I married my second wife Gill, whom I sadly lost in 2013. ‘For so long, Tony and I were like brothers, so I regret losing contact.’
