TODAY’S RADIO 3 LUNCHTIME CONCERT (1PM),

live from Wigmore Hall, will include George Gershwin’s lively Cuban Overture. It was written for an orchestra, but the line-up here seems better suited to the piece. Clarinettist Sabine Meyer (pictured), joins forces with the four saxophonists and one pianist of the Alliage Quintett for a concert full of dance music. Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances are on the bill, along with waltzes, polkas and ballet music.
