Eat less, lose weight

BORIS JOHNSON is right: the easiest way to lose weight is to eat less (Mail). Fizzy drinks, crisps, sweets and chocolate should be an occasional treat, not a meal.

Of course, no one who is overweight wants to hear this and it is easier to blame someone else than accept responsibi­lity for what you put in your own mouth.

With so many illnesses linked to an unhealthy weight, it’s up to the individual to change their lifestyle and priorities. We can’t keep looking to the Government to solve every problem in life.
