MANCHESTER CITY are set to open the bidding for Brighton wing-back Marc Cucurella, 23, at £40million but the Seagulls want around £50m. Chelsea are monitoring developmen­ts. City expect an improved bid from ARSENAL for £50m-rated Gabriel Jesus.

MANCHESTER UNITED will make a new offer for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong after failing with an initial bid of £51m. De Jong is Erik ten Hag’s priority along with free agent Christian Eriksen, who has an offer from Tottenham. Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, another target for United, is set to sign a new deal with the Dutch club.

AJAX remain in talks with TOTTENHAM over a fee for Steven Bergwijn. Ajax are selling Sebastien Haller to Borussia Dortmund for £29m and WEST HAM would be due about £6m due to a 20 per cent sell-on clause. TORINO want West Ham’s Nikola Vlasic on loan. The Hammers will confirm the signing of defender Nayef Aguerd from Rennes for £25m today.

LIVERPOOL have signed Calvin Ramsay from Aberdeen for £6.5m. Sadio Mane will fly to Germany tomorrow for a medical with Bayern Munich. Liverpool midfielder Takumi Minamino is wanted by Monaco, Atalanta and Lyon.

FULHAM hope to fend off Wolves for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Joao Palhinha after agreeing a £15m transfer. Fulham are also weighing up a £6m bid for Newcastle United midfielder Jonjo Shelvey.

LEEDS UNITED may cancel goalkeeper Kiko Casilla’s contract and are eyeing Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, 19.
