Police recruitment ad that’s like a scene from Line of Duty
HELMETED and heavily armed, the officers in the dramatic scene above look as if they’re straight out of Line of Duty, Silent Witness or some other action-packed TV police drama.
In fact, it is an image from a slickly-edited recruitment video for Scotland Yard that cost £13,895 a second to make.
It highlights some of the most exciting roles in policing and comes after the Met has been hit by a series of scandals – including the murder of Sarah Everard by serving officer Wayne Couzens last year.
‘The ad showcasing the impressive variety of jobs available is deliberately designed to look like a movie trailer and gives the audience a glimpse into a wide variety of roles, ranging from firearms and explosives officers to safer neighbourhoods and marine police, among others,’ said a Met spokesman yesterday.

However, the decision to lavish £416,859 on a 30-second ad at a time of flagging detection rates is likely to infuriate critics of the force.
