Di designer lashes out at fashionistas

-

BRUCE OLDFIELD was a favourite of Princess Diana and created the sumptuous gown worn by the Duchess of Cornwall in her new Vogue shoot — but don’t dare call him a fashion designer.

‘Fashion people scare me rigid,’ declares the couturier. ‘I just don’t want to be anywhere near them. Those people who spend all their time in fashion houses.’

Oldfield, 71, is even more scathing about the New York gala. ‘If you look at the Met ball, it’s an embarrassment,’ he says. ‘The women in the past who went, they were so stylish and well dressed.

‘But this new lot seem like, wannabe drag queens.’
