THE art critic Waldemar Januszczak (pictured) can make anything lively, but he has some good material to work with in this new series about the hidden meanings of paintings. He starts with perhaps the most famous painting of all, Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. In the second of today’s opening double bill, Januszczak turns his attention to the 18th-century English artist Thomas Gainsborough’s portrait of Mr and Mrs Andrews.
