SUMMER SOLSTICE

The summer solstice

is unique

Held on a special day, To herald warmer

weather in,

For which a big hooray. How nice to shed those

woolly clothes,

And revel in the sun, While wearing shorts and

flimsy tops,

Now summer has begun. Imagine frolics on

the beach,

And picnics in the park, No urgent need to

hurry home,

It’s ages until dark.

The long, warm days may

change our lives,

And even what we eat, Hot soup and stews will

now be out,

Ice creams will be

the treat.

But will the solstice bring

the change

To make these dreams

come true

If summer doesn’t start

off well, Whatever shall we do ?
