Killer neighbour gets 38 years’ jail

-

A FORMER commando was jailed for a minimum of 38 years yesterday after killing two neighbours following rows about parking.

Collin Reeves, 35, pictured, stabbed teacher Stephen Chapple, 36, and his wife Jennifer, 33, with a ceremonial dagger he was given when he left the Army.

The Afghan War veteran was caught on the victims’ CCTV scaling a garden fence before walking through the couple’s back door. He stabbed them in their living room as their two sons slept upstairs in Norton Fitzwarren, Somerset.

Reeves was found guilty of murder by a jury at Bristol Crown Court.

Mr Justice Garnham, sentencing him to life in jail, said ‘trivial’ parking issues led Reeves to launch an ‘unprovoked and utterly unjustified’ attack.
