Hopes dashed
I WENT up by train to London last week to meet a friend for lunch. The sun was shining and the restaurant was crowded with people enjoying life after two terrible years.
Bars, cafes, street vendors and taxis were all trying to claw back their business after months wondering if they would still have one.
Don’t we all deserve time to rejoice and look forward? Well, no, because it has all come to a stop with the RMT strikes. Sorry everyone going to Glastonbury, patients with hospital appointments, students sitting their exams and commuters trying to earn a living.
Well, there you go, it was nice while it lasted.
