So what do you suggest we do about THIS, sir?

DOZENS of migrants made the Channel crossing in small dinghies yesterday.

In one group, escorted to Dover by Border Force officials, a man could be seen carrying a smiling toddler wearing a grey beanie hat reading ‘I love Papa’ and holding a pink soft toy.

They were accompanied by a slightly older boy who was also clutching a stuffed animal and wearing the same hat.

Nearly 12,000 migrants have crossed the Channel by small boat so far this year, according to government figures.

Some 138 people made the perilous journey in three boats on Thursday, bringing the total number of arrivals for 2022 to 11,928 – almost double the 5,906 who arrived in the same period last year. Between 45 and 50 people were brought to Dover at around 8am yesterday.

Dover MP Natalie Elphicke said: ‘These shocking figures underline yet again why urgent action is needed.’
