Has Gucci overstepped the line?

FASHION brand Gucci is famed for its timeless, clean and elegant designs.

Fans may therefore be bemused by its collaboration with sportswear brand Adidas. You can bag a pair of daring Adidas x Gucci loafers for £785 – although it’s hard to know if you’d use them to kick a ball or impress at a wedding.

Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele said he took inspiration from his memories of both brands, especially from the 1980s and 90s. The luxury shoes are emblazoned with the famous three stripes of the German sportswear company and the green and red band of the Italian fashion house. They also bear the Adidas three-leaf symbol in gold on the back of the heel, matched by the Gucci metal insert on the front.
