Life in jail for killer of Rikki Neave, six

-

A CHILD killer has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 15 years for the murder of Rikki Neave.

James Watson was 13 when he lured sixyearold Rikki to woods near his home in Peterborough and strangled him to fulfil a ‘morbid fantasy’ in November 1994.

He had stripped Rikki and posed his body in a star shape for sexual gratification.

Ruth Neave was cleared of her son’s murder in 1996 but jailed for child cruelty. The case was reopened in 2015.

Addressing Watson at the Old Bailey, Rikki’s sister Rebecca said: ‘After all these years of living your life you finally get your comeuppance, and Rikki... finally gets justice.’

Watson, now 41, was found guilty in April.
