CHELSEA’S LATE RICHARLISO­N BID COMES UP SHORT

■ TOTTENHAM have held off a late attempt by Chelsea to sign Everton forward Richarliso­n. The Toffees rejected a £40m offer from Spurs on Wednesday but they came back with a bid of £50m with add-ons which Chelsea refused to match. Richarliso­n (below) had his medical in Brazil with Spurs staff present. Watford will receive £2m of the fee. ÷ BARCELONA have made a late bid for Leeds’ Raphinha but their proposal still falls short of Chelsea’s £60m offer. Raphinha’s agent Deco is waiting to see if Barca can find more funds after the £229m injection from investors Sixth Street.

■ JUVENTUS are focusing on Chelsea striker Timo Werner as the makeweight in a deal for Matthijs de Ligt, who has expressed a willingnes­s to move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea remain in talks with Manchester City for Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake.

÷ KALVIN PHILLIPS will have his Manchester City medical today before completing a £45m move from Leeds. City’s Darko Gyabi, 18, is to have his medical at Leeds. ■ NOTTINGHAM FOREST forward Brennan Johnson, 21, is to sign a new long-term deal. Forest have asked about Manchester City defender Issa Kabore.

÷ CHEIKHOU KOUYATE will leave Crystal Palace today after failing to agree a contract extension. Kouyate, 32, wanted a two-year contract. By completing a move for Lens midfielder Cheick Doucoure, 22, Palace have a ready-made replacemen­t.

■ WEST HAM manager David Moyes has shelved a move for Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma.

■ BRENTFORD have asked about Torino keeper Vanja Milinkovic­Savic. Defender Dan Ballard has joined SUNDERLAND from Arsenal. WATFORD’S Moussa Sissoko is closing on a £1.8m move to Nantes. Andre Gray has a deal in place with Greek side Aris Thessaloni­ki. Oliver Burke has left SHEFFIELD UNITED for Werder Bremen.
