158 ENGLAND’S rookie back-line for the second Test contains uncapped pair Guy Porter and Tommy Freeman plus Jack van Poortvliet, who made a try-scoring debut in last weekend’s defeat in Perth. Head coach Eddie Jones has just 158 caps of experience behind the scrum. 60 OF THOSE 158 caps, 95 (or 60 per cent) belong to centre Owen Farrell. He will have to use all of his internatio­nal know-how to help guide those around him. 4

ENGLAND fly-half Marcus Smith will win his 12th cap in Brisbane. He has started 10 of his 11 Tests to date and of those 10, has

begun alongside three different scrum-halves. Van Poortvliet will be the fourth No 9 Smith has started with after Harry Randall, Ben Youngs and Danny Care.

9LEICESTER centre Porter, 25, is the ninth player to fill the England No 13 shirt in Jones’s time in charge. Porter was born in London but grew up in Australia and was educated at Sydney University.

AUSTRALIA ended a run of eight straight defeats by England in the first Test. They could today win back-to-back games against them for the first time in 12 years. Between November 2008 and June 2010, the Wallabies won all three of the games between the two sides.

AUSTRALIA have giant prop Taniela Tupou fit to start after he missed the first Test with a calf injury. Tupou was known as the ‘Tongan Thor’ growing up in the Pacific nation and weighs just over 21 stone. He is one of seven Australian changes from Perth after more injury troubles and suspension hit head coach Dave Rennie.
