Retirement joy

NICK SMITH (letters) suggests those who choose to retire just ‘sit around waiting to die’. How depressing.

I am a 72-year-old married woman with no children. I received my state pension at 61 and was so happy to retire, having worked full-time for 45 years. I walk, sing, paint, read, do crosswords and keep active on Facebook. oh, and I run our home and look after my husband and our rescue dog. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Mr smith.
