Pupil is given shorts shrift
A PUPIL was sent home from school for wearing shorts instead of trousers in the heatwave.
Alan Freeman said he was ‘ baffled’ when his 14-year-old son was made to change into the usual uniform. He added: ‘ He’s not very happy.’ Heckmondwike Grammar School in West Yorkshire told the BBC that pupils were allowed to remove only blazers and ties – but all classrooms in use had air conditioning.
