So cool... Brad beats the heat with a skirt
THERE was no skirting around Brad Pitt’s bold fashion statement when he turned up to promote his new film.
The Hollywood star, 8, raised eyebrows as he wore a brown linen skirt in the searing heat of Berlin for the premiere of Bullet Train.
He matched the knee-length number with a brown jacket, pink shirt and motorcycle boots. The outfit showed off his rarely seen leg tattoos, including a rhino, as temperatures hit 3 C (9 F) in the German capital on Tuesday.
Asked why he chose to wear a skirt, he told reporters: ‘The breeze. The breeze.’ The Fight Club actor previously predicted that skirts would become popular with men. While promoting Troy in 2004, in which he wore a leather skirt to play Achilles, he said: ‘Men will be wearing skirts by next summer. That’s my prediction.’
Other celebrities who have worn skirts in public include football legend David Beckham, 47, who donned a sarong over trousers while out with wife Victoria during the 1998 World Cup in France. Pitt changed his look after his arrival in London yesterday when he wore a loose-fitting green jacket and trousers, which onlookers compared to pyjamas. Last week he appeared to take inspiration from Miami Vice’s Sonny Crockett as he wore a peach suit and sunglasses. In Bullet Train, Pitt plays a hitman in Japan. It is due for release on August .
