Donald (and Melania) pay tribute to Ivana Trump
DONALD Trump paid his respects yesterday to his first wife Ivana – joining their three children at a funeral service in New York.
The former US President and third wife Melania joined mourners at St Vincent Ferrer Roman Catholic church on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Minutes earlier, Donald and Ivana Trump’s children – Donald Jr, Ivanka and Eric – and their families followed Ivana’s gold-coloured coffin into the church.
Tiffany Trump, the daughter of Mr Trump and his second wife, Marla Maples, also attended the service. Ivana, 73, was found dead at the bottom of the stairs in her Manhattan home last week. Authorities said her death was an accident.
Ivana and Donald Trump met in the 1970s and were married from 1977 to 1992. They divorced after his affair with Miss Maples.
In the 1980s, they were a power couple, and Ivana became well known in her own right. She also helped her husband with his businesses, managing one of his Atlantic City casinos.
Their public divorce was ugly, but in recent years they were friendly.
Ivana was an enthusiastic supporter of Mr Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and said they spoke on a regular basis.
