Forgotten question

WHY has none of our prospective prime ministers mentioned illegal immigration? That was at the forefront of Brexit voters’ minds and remains of great importance.

T. OLDAKER, Northiam, E. Sussex. THE Home Affairs Select Committee, chaired by Labour MP Dame Diana Johnson, says the threat to deport migrants to Rwanda has had no effect on the numbers still coming to this country.

Of course it hasn’t. As long as do-gooders thwart every effort to kick-start the scheme, those who reach our shores know that, once in Britain, they are likely to stay here.

Let’s get these flights started, then the numbers will fall dramatically.
