Hats off for Ross’s return

AIDAN TURNER may have to dust off his tricorn — and Eleanor tomlinson dig out her corset — because they could be set for a return to their most famous roles: as Ross and demelza poldark.

‘ It’s definitely something I’d consider returning to in the future,’ said Aidan (pictured), who famously snaffled Ross’s hat at the end of filming in 2019 (while screen wife Eleanor helped herself to one of demelza’s undergarments).

‘Ross poldark was a role I loved playing and I never felt I said a final goodbye to the character. there’s other work I’d like to complete in the short term — including more series of ITV thriller the suspect. But it would be nice to revisit poldark.’

the BBC adapted eight of winston Graham’s poldark novels, leaving four — the Miller’s dance, the Loving cup, the twisted sword and Bella poldark — still available for filming.

In the suspect, which will show on ITV later this summer, Aidan plays dr Joe McLoughlin, a psychiatrist who may also be a killer.
