BILLED as Netflix’s most expensive film ever — with a rumoured budget of £165m — this sees the streaming service parking its tank on Bond territory. There are 12 books in the Mark Greaney espionage series this is based on, and the hope is the film will be successful enough to lead to more.

The always charismatic Ryan Gosling plays the grey man of the title, recruited for the CIA from jail, and the wider cast is full of stars, such as Marvel’s Chris Evans, Bridgerton’s Rege-Jean Page and Bond’s Ana de Armas.
