HAMMERS SET TO LAND £35m SCAMACCA
■ WEST HAM have agreed a £35.5million fee with Sassuolo for Italy striker Gianluca Scamacca. Talks are continuing as Sassuolo also want a 10 per cent sell-on clause inserted into the deal which is £30.5m plus £5m in add-ons. Personal terms have also still to be agreed. West Ham have also made a £12m offer for Eintracht Frankfurt left winger Filip Kostic. The 29-year-old impressed against David Moyes’s side in the Europa League last season. West Ham also like LEICESTER CITY left back Luke Thomas but the Foxes want £20m for the 21-year-old.
■ NEWCASTLE UNITED have asked about Rennes winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. The skilful Ghana international is regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Europe and has had interest from the Bayer Leverkusen and Ajax. Rennes paid £17m to sign the 20-year-old from Nordsjaelland last year and he is now valued around £30m.
■ CHELSEA expect to confirm the £55m signing of Sevilla defender Jules Kounde over the weekend after Barcelona seemingly admitted defeat in the race. Kounde, 23, is due to move to Stamford Bridge on a five-year deal. His arrival is likely to trigger the departure of Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta to Barcelona.
■ NOTTINGHAM FOREST have revived their bid to sign Maxwel Cornet from Burnley. The Ivory Coast forward has a £17.5m release clause but Everton and Fulham have been proposing loans or £5m up front with £20m next summer. Forest are pressing ahead with their offer but a deal for WATFORD striker Emmanuel Dennis looks to be off.
■ EVERTON have held initial talks for Wolves’ Belgium midfielder Leander Dendoncker, 28, but a move is still to develop.
■ BRENTFORD have signed Ben Mee, 32, on a two-year contract. Mee has paid a fee to Carbon Neutral Britain to cover his car’s petrol output travelling to London for his transfer.
■ MANCHESTER CITY goalkeeper Arijanet Muric has joined BURNLEY for £3m on a four-year deal. Burnley have been rebuffed in an approach for Coventry midfielder Callum O’Hare. Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City for £32m.
■ BRIGHTON have received a £15m bid from Salernitana for striker Neal Maupay. Graham Potter is reluctant to lose the 25-year-old who is out of contract next summer as he has been Brighton’s top scorer in each of the past three seasons. QPR have completed the signing of Brighton midfielder Taylor Richards on a season loan.
■ LIVERPOOL midfielder Tyler Morton, 19, has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan.
■ CRYSTAL PALACE have completed the signing of Bayern Munich defender Chris Richards.
■ STOKE CITY have signed striker Dwight Gayle from Newcastle United on a two-year contract and have appointed former Manchester United defender John O’Shea, 41, as first-team coach.
■ LEEDS UNITED are set to appoint former Borussia Dortmund assistant Rene Maric, 29, to their backroom staff.
■ ASTON VILLA striker Wesley has joined Levante on loan for the season with a view to a permanent move.
