BAKE OFF: THE PROFESSIONALS — THE FINAL, 8PM, CH4

FUN-LOVING hosts Liam Charles and Stacey Solomon can hardly contain their excitement as we reach the grand final, with the remaining three teams of professional pastry chefs endeavouring to follow in the footsteps of last year’s winners, Michael Coggan and Andrew Minto from Gin & Bake in Cardiff. Over two days, Jemima and Zack (pictured, with bluetrimmed jackets) Nathan and Kevin (orange) and I Shan and Jojo (red) will be pushed to their limits, and nothing less than patisserie perfection will do for Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden. The judges will be setting not one but two marathon challenges. First, the teams must create a picture-perfect window display comprising four different batches of the most eye-catching finger tarts. Then, the ten weeks of intense competition culminates in a gruelling seven-hour task that will see the teams calling on all their skills and experience to rustle up a banquet fit for a day at the races — to feed no fewer than 80 people. So, who will fall at the final hurdle, and which team will finish ahead of the field and be crowned this year’s winner?
