MY DAUGHTER is one of the ‘obstinate’ teachers Richard Littlejohn criticised (Mail). She worked non- stop throughout the Covid pandemic to support pupils and parents, not just for financial reward.

I’m also a public sector worker, a retired nurse who returned to the front line aged 62 to help in the aftermath of the pandemic, despite the deaths of two family members and having long Covid myself. Like my daughter, I did so because I cared.
