Taj Mahal but also the incredible crescent-shaped Agra Fort and the abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri.
In Jaipur, the famous ‘pink city’ will reveal its most stunning sights including the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds, built more than 200 years ago to allow royal ladies to watch processions without being seen.
Then it’s off to Ranthambore National Park in search of the elusive Bengal tiger. Over three game drives, you may spot this incredible creature along with leopards, sloth bears, monkeys and birds including kingfishers and bee-eaters.
TOY TRAINS AND MAGNIFICENT MOUNTAINS
If you want to step off the beaten path but not at the expense of stunning sights, try Titan Travel’s In the Foothills of the Himalaya (13 days, from £2,399pp departing September 28 2022 – other dates available).

There are echoes of empire in Shimla, summer capital of the British Raj, where officers and their families would go to escape the stifling heat.
Getting there is half the fun, taking the ‘toy train’ that slowly winds higher and higher, making one of the most beautiful journeys on earth, to arrive at a perfect English high street nestling atop a mountain.
It’s an adventure that could only happen in awe-inspiring India.
