has reached the peak of patronages. I hear he’s become patron of the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team that covers his favourite hill — taking over the role from his late father. Such is Charles’s affection for Lochnagar that he immortalis­ed it in his illustrate­d 1980 children’s book, The Old Man Of Lochnagar. It was originally written by the Prince to entertain his brothers, Andrew and Edward, as children. The book was later made into an animated short film by the BBC, with Robbie Coltrane providing the voice of the hermit and Charles narrating.
