NHS for all our futures

-

I AGREE with Professor Stephen Smith’s excellent article on the nhS (Mail). Founded in 1948, of course it is unable to cope with the demands placed upon it in 2022.

People live longer and expensive drugs and procedures, health tourists and cosmetic surgery have increased the required budget.

The irony is that Jeremy hunt is chair of the health Select Committee that has reported on the nhS. however, as health Secretary, he didn’t solve the problems.

I am sure those who could afford it would pay for their own health insurance if there were tax incentives.

M. SOUTHON, Christchurch, Dorset. AT LAST a medic who realises the need for real nhS reform. This shouldn’t be a political football, but a true co- design of a future health service between the people and those who work for it.

We need a Royal Commission with no preconceptions about funding to come up with an nhS for the future.
