JIMENEZ OUT IN SICKENER FOR WOLVES

- TOM COLLOMOSSE

RAUL JIMENEZ will miss the start of the season after suffering a knee injury that leaves Wolves without a senior centre forward ahead of their opening Premier League game at Leeds on August 6.

The Mexico striker damaged medial ligaments during Wolves’ friendly against Besiktas on Saturday and will be absent for several weeks. Earlier this month, young back-up forward Fabio Silva joined Anderlecht on loan for the season. Jimenez was one of the Premier League most effective forwards before he suffered a fractured skull at Arsenal in November 2020, which briefly placed his life in danger.
