AA warns of gridlocks
THE travel hell facing holidaymakers worsened yesterday as the AA issued an ‘amber’ traffic warning and rail bosses announced a string of Bank Holiday engineering works.
The motoring group warned of gridlock on some major roads as rail strikes tomorrow force more people into vehicles, including sports fans heading to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and the opening day of the English Football League.
The worst disruption is likely to be on roads leading to crossChannel services in Kent.
Train drivers for Arriva Rail London, Greater Anglia, Great Western, Hull Trains, LNER, Southeastern, and West Midlands Trains are going on strike.
