Vanessa quits radio shows after 20 years

-

VANESSA Feltz yesterday revealed she is leaving her shows on Radio 2 and BBC Radio London after almost 20 years.

Miss Feltz, 60, pictured, fought back tears as she broke the news to listeners ahead of her final show today. One of the BBC’s highest paid presenters, she said it had been an ‘honour and a privilege’ hosting the two early-morning shows that earn her more than £400,000 a year.

But she said she was ready to ‘catch up on a much-needed decade’s deficit of beauty sleep’.

Following a fortnight break she will cover Jeremy Vine for two weeks and bid a final farewell to Radio 2 listeners on August 26.

She has made multiple recent appearances on Talk TV’s panel show, The Talk. Rumours last night suggested she may sign with the new channel.
