As Sarkozy awaits his fate, Carla is feeling the heat
YOU would not think that Carla Bruni had a care in the world, judging by her holiday snaps.
But the serene images of the 54-year-old former French first lady belie the drama in her life.
Her husband Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president from 2007 to 2012, is waiting to find out if he will be sentenced to a year under house arrest.
Sarkozy, 67, was found guilty in September of illegally funding his unsuccessful 2012 re-election campaign.
He is appealing against his sentence, which he can serve at home while wearing an electronic tag. The sentence has been paused until the appeal has been considered.
Meanwhile he is making the most of his time as a free man – holidaying on a yacht with his supermodel wife this week.
Miss Bruni looked chic in a black swimsuit and was spotted taking a dip while they soaked up the sun near Ibiza, Spain.
Earlier on, she wore a casual outfit of denim shorts and a vest top and was seen kissing her husband. Speaking to French magazine Madame Figaro this month, Miss Bruni revealed that maintaining her figure takes a lot of work. She said: ‘I have a silhouette and a style, perhaps, but I make unspeakable efforts to stay thin: Two hours of sports per day, some barre, some elliptical bike, a little bit of pilates.’
The former singer, who married Sarkozy in 2008, recently modelled for French fashion houses YSL and Balmain after a break. She said it was ‘bizarre’ as she was old enough to be the mother of the other models.
