Out-of-date system
THE NHS is broken. It was created for those genuinely in need of medical intervention to allay pain or death. It was not designed to facilitate nonthreatening treatments.
Ever-increasing costs of more sophisticated treatments and medical equipment render the NHS unsustainable in its current form. It needs to be reconstructed into a system that integrates private and public healthcare.

When I retired from working in healthcare seven years ago, it had been well and truly broken for some time. We need a healthcare system with the patient at its centre.
