A fun summer at care homes

-

STAYING active as you grow older can make a big difference to quality of life, improving mood, boosting confidence, helping you stay strong and reducing the likelihood of falls. that’s why activities are an integral part of life at all Care South homes. And there’s no better time than the summer to get residents outdoors, into the stunning, secure gardens of the 15 care homes in Dorset, Devon, Somerset and West Sussex, and on trips to local attractions. Whether it’s a stroll followed by fish and chips or an ice cream on the beach, picnic lunch in the countryside or gentle activities in the garden, food, fun and friendship are well and truly on the menu.

One group recently enjoyed a scenic picnic in the New Forest, for example, with food provided by the in-house chefs. Another, dressed in sunhats, explored all that West Bay, Dorset, has to offer, including ice cream and fish and chips. And others have been on trips to nearby Care South properties to enjoy superb three-course alfresco lunches, fruity Pimm’s and the chance to get to know neighbours at these leading, not-for-profit care homes.
