Loving care for a lush, green lawn

-

LOOKING after our lawns is a year-round job, but it’s worth it — as nothing brings your outdoor space to life better than healthy, green grass. With this summer’s heatwaves, do try to water your lawn at least once a week (barring a hosepipe ban) depending on how damp your garden is. When mowing your lawn, always remember:

■ DO NOT remove over a third of the grass length in a single occasion.

■ EACH run up your lawn should slightly overlap the previous one to ensure no areas are missed. ■ WORK slowly if the grass is damp or if your grass is especially long, as it will be delicate and much more susceptible to damage.

■ IF YOU’RE going on holiday, don’t scalp your lawn before you head off — as this could leave it more vulnerable to heat.

If going for more than a week, see if a neighbour can come in and water it occasionally while you are away. ryobi has lots of different mowers for all garden sizes, including compact cordless battery

models that incorporate advanced brushless technology and intelligent electronics for efficiency. Look out for the innovative EasyEdge™ grass comb feature that allows you to mow right up to the perimeter of your lawn. With autumn not so far away, ensure that leaves and debris are regularly cleared from your whole garden to keep your lawn looking as good as possible.

A cordless brushless blowervac from ryobi will make easy work of keeping on top of any stray garden debris all year long. Just put in a little work — and enjoy your lush, green lawn!
