SHE famously described Margaret Thatcher as the ‘original Spice Girl’.

Now Geri Horner has endorsed Liz Truss to be the country’s next prime minister.

The pop star known as Ginger Spice told the Foreign Secretary to ‘go for it!’ as they met at the Women’s Euro 2022 final on Sunday.

late 1990s, Mrs Horner lavished praise on Mrs Thatcher, who she said was ‘definitely the original Spice Girl, rising from the greengrocer’s daughter to Prime Minister’.

Following her death in 2013, she tweeted: ‘Thinking of our first lady of girl power... who taught me anything is possible.’

It came as Miss Truss revealed she has begun to discuss with her family the possibility of getting a Downing Street dog to replace Dilyn, who is owned by Boris Johnson and his wife Carrie.

‘I’ve met some fantastic dogs on the campaign in particular,’ she said. ‘Essentially I would love to get a dog and my daughters are very keen, [but] my husband says that he will spend all the time looking after the dog, which may or may not be true. If I do become prime minister, I’m already very fond of Larry [the cat]. I would hope to get a dog as well but I think it might be vetoed.’
