Kate’s sepsis-hit husband in fight to save kidneys
KATE Garraway has revealed doctors are battling to save her husband’s kidneys after he was rushed to hospital with lifethreatening sepsis.
Miss Garraway, 55, had been absent from presenting
Good Morning Britain for three weeks after Derek Draper’s kidneys were ‘really badly infected’.
His TV presenter wife, pictured, said:
‘The challenge now is to save them. He’s waiting for another procedure. He’s still in high dependency.’
She announced her return to screens on Sunday night, explaining to her million Instagram followers that her 54-year-old husband had initially taken an ‘unexpected and frightening turn for the worse’. Mr Draper – who has two children with Miss Garraway – spent 374 days in hospital after being struck down with Covid in March 2020.
