SOPHIE INSPIRED BY DAD’S MEMORY
SOPHIE CAPEWELL dedicated her keirin silver to dad Nigel, a former British Paralympic cyclist who died last year. The England rider, 23, was especially emotional after hearing England anthem Jerusalem played out for Laura Kenny.
‘I have been crying because that was played at my dad’s funeral,’ said Capewell, who also claimed a bronze on Sunday. ‘This medal is for him.’
Ollie Wood also took bronze in the men’s points race.
