SHOPPERS desperate to slash soaring food bills are being urged to watch out for fake Tesco competitions offering free groceries.

A Facebook page called Tesco Fans claimed customers could grab a box of food worth £40 if they shared and commented on the post. It also claimed 90 boxes would contain a £500 voucher.

Consumer group Which? contacted users who had responded to the post and said they had not received any food or vouchers.

A Tesco spokesman says the supermarket only has one Facebook page. Any other is potentially a scam and should not be clicked on.
