Future is digital

-

ICELAND boss Richard Walker has called on the Government to reform business rates to save town centres. I’m afraid he needs to read the writing on the wall.

The public don’t want to subsidise old-fashioned retailers. Without even getting out of bed the other morning, I paid my water bill, bought my wife a swimsuit and booked a holiday.

Why would I drive to the high Street and find somewhere to park in order to visit a shop that might not have what I want?

The town centre is in its death throes and the future is digital.
