CHELSEA AGREE £20m DEAL FOR TEENAGE STAR CHUKWUEMEK­A

■ CHELSEA have agreed a £20million deal for Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemek­a. The 18-year-old (right), who had rejected a new contract at Villa and is understood to have asked for a deal worth up to £100,000 a week, will be in London today for his medical. He has agreed a six-year contract. The Blues are continuing negotiatio­ns with Brighton over Marc Cucurella. A deal for Chelsea’s Levi Colwill between the clubs could now be done separately, while Cucurella’s arrival would free Malang Sarr to join Monaco. Chelsea have also made two offers for Inter midfielder Cesare Casadei. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, floated as an option in the Blues’ proposal for Leicester’s Wesley Fofana, does not wish to leave the club, who yesterday confirmed the £12m signing of goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina, 18, from Chicago Fire on a six-year deal. Slonina will return to Chicago on loan.

MANCHESTER CITY have had an offer rejected for Anderlecht left back Sergio Gomez, who has been followed by Arsenal and Leeds, after moving on from Cucurella. City midfielder James McAtee is close to joining SHEFFIELD UNITED on loan. BRIGHTON, meanwhile, have asked about RB Leipzig left back Angelino.

MANCHESTER UNITED left back Alex Telles is poised to join Sevilla on loan. The Spanish side have also earmarked United’s Eric Bailly as a potential replacemen­t for Jules Kounde. Bailly also has offers from Fulham and Roma.

WEST HAM have turned back to BURNLEY winger Maxwel Cornet after growing frustrated by the growing expense of a proposed deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic. Cornet, who has been speaking to Nottingham Forest, has a £17.5m release clause and Burnley have earmarked some of the money for Antwerp winger Manuel Benson, 25, who is due for a medical ahead of agreeing a four-year deal.

The Hammers are also looking at alternativ­es to Lille midfielder Amadou Onana after talks hit an impasse.

LEICESTER CITY have rejected a second bid from Newcastle United for midfielder James Maddison worth around £40m. Newcastle have been given encouragem­ent that the 25-year-old is interested in a move to Tyneside. Leicester have also looked at

Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, with Kasper Schmeichel set to join Nice. BOURNEMOUT­H are in talks with BARCELONA over a potential move for Brazilian goalkeeper Neto, 33, who made four appearance­s for Barca last season. CRYSTAL PALACE are close to signing Northern Ireland Under 21 internatio­nal defender Kofi Balmer, 21, from Larne. BRENTFORD have had their £16m offer for Sampdoria midfielder Mikkel Damsgaard accepted.

ARSENAL defender Pablo Mari, 28, is closing in on a move to Serie A side Monza. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno underwent his medical at FULHAM yesterday ahead of signing a threeyear contract with an option for a further year.

LEEDS UNITED have confirmed new contracts for forwards Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summervill­e. LIVERPOOL striker Diogo Jota has signed a new five-year deal.
