The boot’s off the other foot ... X-ray Coleen hits back at jibe

- By Katie Hind

COLEEN Rooney yesterday revealed an X-ray of her broken toe after Rebekah Vardy suggested she had ‘milked’ the injury during the Wagatha Christie court case.

She took to Twitter to post the X-ray of her left foot and said she had removed her much talked-about moon boot – five months after she fell.

The caption ‘ Boots finally off after my break’ was accompanied by a two emojis, one signifying she was tired and confused, the other that she was feeling joyous.

The tweet came after Mrs Vardy hinted in her interview with The Sun newspaper that Mrs Rooney was exploiting her injury by wearing the boot to the High Court for the seven-day libel battle in May.

Mrs Vardy, 40, was asked if she thought her rival was ‘milking the moon-boot’ to

‘I was having serious panic attacks’

which she replied: ‘Ohhh, couldn’t possibly [comment].’ Mrs Rooney, 36, was seen entering the court wearing one Gucci loafer and the plastic-grey air-boot on the other foot.

She broke her little toe following a fall in March at the Rooneys’ £20million mansion in Cheshire where the couple live with their four sons.

Mrs Rooney was said by friends to ‘be in quite a lot of pain’ and initially had to use crutches.

Her husband, former Manchester United and England striker Wayne, broke his metatarsal just weeks before the 2006 World Cup in Germany but he managed to play in the tournament. A source said: ‘It was handy for Coleen, Wayne knows all about foot injuries.’ Mrs Vardy has also said that she believes she is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after losing the libel trial, adding that she had been taken to hospital twice since the episode began.

‘I was having serious panic attacks,’ she told the Sun. ‘I had kidney stones which were brought on by stress, and I just felt like my life was falling apart.

“And, since the court case, I think I’m probably suffering with PTSD.’
