Panned restaurants

-

MY HUSBAND and I decided to get away from the kitchen pots and pans.

We booked a break in a smart hotel and were surprised that instead of plates, every meal was served in mini saucepans, frying pans, buckets or big soup bowls in which we had to chase the food around with our knife and fork.

M. E. NUNN, Plymouth, Devon. I HAD enjoyed brunch at a local cafe, so on my next visit I invited a friend to join me.

I was disappointed that the white china plates had been replaced by metal sizzling pans with all the elements of the fry-up piled on top of each in a most unappetising way.

Why do so many cafes and restaurants do this?

M. SPRINGER, Reading, Berks.
