COADY CAN GO, SAY WOLVES

- TOM COLLOMOSSE

WOLVES are prepared to listen to offers for Conor Coady if their captain feels he needs to leave the club to continue playing regular football.

Coady has been a mainstay at Molineux during the Premier League era, rarely missing a game, and has broken into the England squad thanks to that outstanding consistency.

But the arrival of £20million centre back Nathan Collins, coupled with boss Bruno Lage’s switch to a back four this season, means Coady has slipped down the pecking order and is unlikely to start Saturday’s opening fixture at Leeds. There is believed to be interest from Everton, where former Wolves sporting director Kevin Thelwell now holds a senior role. Lage is confident of adding to his squad before the transfer window closes though Wolves are braced for further offers for attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. He is pencilled in for a starting place at Leeds but has yet to sign the new contract offered him when he returned from loan at Sheffield United.
