Terror suspect faces Old Bailey

-

A MAN of 38 appeared in court yesterday charged with terror offences.

Shaven-headed Aine Davis, 38, stood in the dock at Westminster Magistrates Court, and was told he faced three charges under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Davis, who spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth, was arrested on arrival at Luton Airport on Wednesday from Turkey.

Chief magistrate Paul Goldspring told Davis his case was too serious to be dealt with at the magistrates court and remanded him in custody to appear next at the Old Bailey on September 2.

He told the defendant: ‘Mr Davis, you will appreciate that if you are convicted the sentence is likely to be years and not months and therefore this is not a case I can deal with in this court.

‘The case is allocated to the crown court. You will appear on September 2 and you will do so in custody.’
