Singer Fleur: I can dance but it’s no advantage on Strictly
SHE was known for her high-energy dance routines on The X Factor. But Fleur East has said her experience will not prove advantageous as she was unveiled as the 12th celebrity in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing line-up.
The singer, 34, said she was feeling pressure to do well but she has no technical training.
‘I can dance in the club and when I’m singing on stage, but I have never done any technical dancing, so I don’t know anything ballroom,’ she told ITV’s Lorraine. She added: ‘I’m terrified of the level of technique that I have to learn because I’m working with professional dancers that have done this for years.’
Miss East was runner-up on The X Factor in 2014 and has been a presenter on Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. BBC wildlife presenter Hamza Yassin was yesterday also named in the line-up, which includes Helen Skelton.
