Why TV chef Torode hates messy kitchens
SLOPPY kitchen habits of MasterChef contestants have caused judge John Torode to boil over.
‘There are a few rules I swear by when I’m cooking. First of all, I hate a messy kitchen,’ declares the television chef, 57.
‘I’m very clean and tidy and I like things to be ordered. When I put together a plate of food, I like it to have pizzazz, but that doesn’t happen if you’re working in chaos.’ Torode, who’s married to actress and former Celebrity MasterChef contestant Lisa Faulkner, adds: ‘I still think it’s hilarious the mess people make on MasterChef.
‘ They’re battling with time constraints and don’t look at the floor. But I’m walking around, thinking, “Who cleans your house? Is this where you live?”’
EIGHTIES star Anneka Rice, who’s making a comeback with a revival of Challenge Anneka, has admitted she once conned Phillip Schofield and his producers by pretending she’d been hypnotised into remembering her past life, so that she would get an extra fee from the ITV show Have I Been Here Before?
‘I really wanted the hypnosis to work in order to get the second fee. So I decided to go for it,’ she explains. Tsk, tsk.
