Manners matter
SERIOUSLY, Liz Hoggard, it is just you who takes offence at people saying ‘No worries’ sarcastically if you don’t say thank you (Inspire).
Why wouldn’t you want to acknowledge it if people have been considerate and moved out of your way? No one expects an outpouring of gratitude, just basic manners.
My friends and I, all in that invisible age bracket, are fed up with walking in the gutter to accommodate other pedestrians looking at their phones or walking in groups. It is galling when they then don’t acknowledge, even with a smile, that we have been thoughtful. SHEILA CLEMENTS,
